Experience authentic, traditional soba-making, starting from grinding buckwheat grains with a stone mill. This hands-on activity allows you to enjoy Iya soba, long regarded as a dish of hospitality, prepared according to the “three fresh principles”: freshly ground, freshly made, and freshly boiled.

This workshop offers an authentic soba-making experience that begins with grinding buckwheat using a stone mill. The workshop takes place in a dedicated indoor space, and all necessary items such as indoor slippers, a head covering, and an apron are provided—no special preparation needed.Each session produces about four servings of noodles. Some of the noodles you make will be cooked and served on the spot as cold noodles (zaru soba), while the rest can be taken home.

The Heike Gozen is a traditional local set meal featuring seasonal wild vegetables and other ingredients from the region, served in a relaxed Japanese-style dining room.Visitors coming for lunch only can enjoy warm buckwheat noodle soup (kake soba), along with other local dishes.This venue offers a selection of regional dishes that highlight seasonal flavors and wild mountain vegetables, making it an excellent choice for a meal during your sightseeing in the area.Note:
